JAKARTA - Strategic collaboration has been carried out by Pertamina and TotalEnergies. Through its affiliation PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (PGN) as Gas Sub Holding Group, Perta Arun Gas (PAG) as the operator of Arun LNG Receiving, Regasification, and Hub Terminal, has signed a Terminal Use Agreement with TotalEnergies Gas & Power Asia Private Limited regarding the utilization of Arun LNG Hub Tanks in 2021.
This collaboration is part of the achievement of many other cooperations which have been formed between Pertamina and TotalEnergies. TotalEnergies will utilize Arun LNG Hub Tanks with the aim to store LNG portfolio commodities from international multi-sources as part of its global LNG trading strategy.
On August 19th 2021, further discussions have been conducted virtually to finalize the deal between PAG and TotalEnergies in accordance with the agreement which was signed on August 10th 2021.
This meeting was attended by management from Pertamina Group, President Director of PAG, Arif Widodo, President Director of Pertamina Gas, Wiko Migantoro and SVP Downstream, Gas, Power & NRE Business Development & Portfolio of Pertamina, Arif Azof together with management from TotalEnergies in Asia.
PAG as the only operator of Bonded Logistics Center for LNG commodity in Indonesia is very glad to collaborate with TotalEnergies to utilize Arun as a Major LNG Hub Center in Asia. Currently Arun has four units of LNG tanks with total capacity of 508,000 m3 (each tank has 127,000 m3) for LNG Hub purposes from both domestic and international sources.
According to Arif Widodo TotalEnergies will utilize two units of LNG Tanks with total capacity of 207,000 m3.
“We are ready to welcome the first shipment of Cubal’s ship from Angola which will be scheduled in early September 2021”, he said.
Arif also mentioned that besides expanding its future business, this collaboration with TotalEnergies is in line with PAG’s vision, to become a world class regasification and LNG Hub company.
“As a part of Gas Sub-holding, PAG is playing its role to have contribution in driving national economy by developing its business strategy in fulfilling the need and also the growth of national energy,” he said.
Arif said that he strongly believes that collaboration between these two parties would be the strategy for PAG to develop its business.
“Since it’s been established for 7 years, PAG has sufficient competence to manage domestic and also international customers. As well as this collaboration with TotalEnergies, it will become an important milestone for PAG in order to energize its capability for strengthening the role of PAG in international markets. Furthermore, PAG has prompted to develop the innovation in the area of its business as well in improving our company’s performance”, he added.
“Focusing on this latest collaboration, we are planning to deliver a cargo from our LNG portfolio to be stored in Arun LNG Hub before delivering the cargo to our end customer. We are also very excited to collaborate further with PAG in order to maximize our international portfolio strategy,” said Nic Poulteney, Managing Director of TotalEnergies Gas & Power Asia Private Limited.
Arif added that PAG and TotalEnergies have also discussed potential long term cooperation which will be explored, “Currently, PAG is acknowledged to expand its business including penetrate new potential market. In LNG Hub business, we are in progress to utilize one more additional tank named F-6004, so companies will be able to utilize this infrastructure immediately. Besides of that, we are also developing other business such as Gassing Up Cooling Down Service, LNG Bunkering and LPG Hub & Transhipment,” he added.
